Resilience
When we speak about resilience, we often think of it as something we must learn, cultivate, or strengthen. Yet while facilitating art therapy sessions with older adults, I am often reminded of something humbling: many of them are already living embodiments of resilience. Having navigated decades of change, loss, adaptation, and growth, they remind me that resilience is not always something we build. Sometimes it is something we have been practicing quietly for a lifetime.

The Quiet Ritual Before Arrival
Some paintings arrive quietly. This whimsical piece explores the tender space between anticipation and uncertainty, drawing on symbols, imagined worlds, and the quiet rituals that surround new beginnings. The Art of Coming Back to Center –When Life Is Full, We Look for What Holds Us
Life has been full lately—children, work, care, travel, and the many emotions that come with them. This reflection explores how pottery, like many creative practices, can become a gentle anchor in busy seasons, helping us slow down, reconnect, and find our way back to ourselves.

Remembering Dr. Jane Goodall — and Mr. H, Her Faithful Companion
Dr. Jane Goodall passed away at 91, leaving behind a legacy of humility, courage, and compassion. Known for her groundbreaking research with chimpanzees, she also carried with her a small stuffed monkey named Mr. H — a gift from a blind magician, symbolising hope and resilience. To me, Mr. H reminds us that even the smallest objects can hold deep meaning. May her gentle spirit guide us to notice, care, and create ripples of change in our own quiet ways.
